I started writing "It's been more than two months since my last post" before I went and checked my last entry, which turned out to start with the exact same line! Yes, it's been quite a dry semester for blog posts, for the same reasons mentioned before--anxiety over my proposal. However, "Titian and the Culture of Mid-century Rome: A Venetian Among the Ruins" is currently in the hands of Dr. Cooper, who says she likes what she's read so far, though she hasn't actually returned it yet.
The holidays are in full swing in our house! Behold our lovely tree, which I ferried home from the tree lot atop the noble Corolla:
Sean's childhood stocking is MIA, so yesterday I made him one. You know what love is? Love is standing in line at Walmart during holiday shopping season to purchase a $2.97 set of variously colored glitters and nothing else.
Last night I tried my hand at making anginettes for the first time, with good results! Hubbard declared them better than her own (granted, she hasn't made them in years and also is of unreliable memory), and Sean generously said they were almost as good as his but excellent for a first effort. *eye roll* Speaking of first effort, I just pulled my test-batch of homemade dog treats out of the oven. It seems I left them in a shade too long, they've begun to darken on the underside, but luckily dog treats are supposed to be crunchy. Now I'll let them cool and then slip some to Lulu on the sly to see if she likes them. Hopefully it's a good recipe, because it's super easy and I'm planning to give these to everyone we know who has a dog: Linda, Michelle, Daniel, Danny G, Dana's daughter Morgan.
...Seriously I am becoming such a housewife. I actually googled "how to make your own all-purpose cleaner" a little while ago. I regret nothing.
