Just Yes

So, as those who know me are aware, I am often easily amused; Sean likes to mock me for getting a huge kick out of the ridiculous-ness that is Lolcats, for example. Thus, I admit to being tickled this afternoon when I was looking for this image of Michelangelo's Temptation and Expulsion scenes from the Sistine Chapel:

and this came up on the search engine:

Yes, it's kitty!Michelangelo.

You can see the original site here; the artist is a woman named Susan Herbert, and her ouevre manages to be broad and yet entirely feline-art related: you can find everything from Napoleon to Humphrey Bogart in cat form, if you so desire it. The Michelangelo piece is listed on the gallery for 1750 British pounds; you can get her version of the entire Sistene ceiling for 7500. Once the momentary 'ha' wore off, I had to wonder: is there really that much of a market for this kind of work, that she would produce so much and charge such prices? Who the hell is framing this in their dining room?

And do you know what her Michelangelo is missing? Adam's semi-erect penis, which is much too close to Eve's mouth for comfort. No, I'm not making it up, go look! Also, a couple panels down from this on the ceiling, you also get to see God's well-toned glutes:

You knew Michelangelo was famous for a reason.
