This post is expressly designed to postpone even further the beginnning of studying for the biology test. the last period of the last day before the weekend, and before the semi, and we have to spend it furiously regurgitating factoids about respiration and glycolysis and thylakoid membranes. who comes up with these scientific names, i don't know. personally, i am much more fond of the approach taken by scientists observing apoptosis, programmed cell death. after observing the globular breakdown of the dying cells, one of them said "hey, that looks like a bleb!" bleb is not a real word, but it stuck, and so the process by which a cell self destructs and is consumed by neighboring cells is known officially as "blebbing".

I suppose the inevitable may be put off no longer....here i go
