after two years and 530 posts, i finally changed the template on this baby. you are now able to comment on anything i say/write, so fire away!

tonight sara and i baked brownies and watched this movie "as good as it gets" with jack nicholson and diane keaton...it dragged on forever and there were old people making out and having sex and CRYING so frickin' often, and i had to see jack nicholson's ass hanging out of a hospital gown, which is just not something i wanted to be exposed to, ever. so do not see this movie. it is just not something that youthful people with everything to look forward to in their lives will probably relate to anyway, it's more to give hope to the fifty-and-up crowd that maybe, after a LOT of sobbing and several heart attacks, they can find love again. blah blah blah.

you know what's weird? there were a couple of things that sara said during the course of the evening that just completely cracked me up, just the way she said them, and now i can't even remember what they are!!

oh, a small miracle happened on the way back from work today--my car stereo started working well again! the back speakers turned on, and all the controls worked right, and i was so happy that i spent five minutes in the driveway before going to sara's deciding what music i would play now that i had some real bass and background sound. i decided on NIN and was driving happily down 84-W when suddenly, halfway through "closer", which is one of my all-time favorite songs, IT WENT PSYCHO. AGAIN. gaaaah. the upside is that i have now determined that my head unit is probably fine and my speakers are all functional, it's just the wiring that's loose, which tommy says is really easy to fix and won't cost much. thank god.

oh, i've also decided that at some point i need to hijack tommy's system, because i reeeeeaaaallly want to know how some of my music (read: GOOD music) would sound with the benefit of a $1200 sound system. his trunk is practically filled by the box for the subwoofers--can you imagine what Tool would sound like with that baby cranked up? (if you don't listen to or like Tool, probably not). it would be infinitelyy better than the rap crap i'm usually forced to listen to at deafening volume. i myself would not spend that much money on....anything, pretty much, short of a nice vacation, but i'm not above wheedling others into letting me use their expensive investments.

i really want to go back to europe. like, REALLY REALLY. junior year cannot come soon enough. i want to give france another try, to see some more of their museums, especially the musee d'orsay. hopefully the dollar will be stronger against the euro by then, because it was really nice to visit spain and have thousands upon thousands of pesetas in exchange for a few hundred american dollars. damn european union, always trying to keep the tourists down!

Michelle,
I like the "upgrade" to your website (far superior to the recent FU Stagweb upgrade, shudder). I promise to keep reading. Later player.

I completely agree with anonymous ;-). Very nice upgrade. But then again, most everything is better than the new upgrade to FU stagweb. :-)
