I can't believe the year is ending. In some ways it feels like life has always been this way, but then i remember high school and it feels like only yesterday that we were cramming for the APs and all talking about prom. it's just insane. has it really been like six months of this life? i guess i can't even compare it to the senior year of high school, because that was four years coming to a close, there was so much more built up in that experience. still, i looked around our little room last night and felt really sad that we have to leave. even if all goes as planned and wendy and i occupy room 207 in Loyola next year, it won't be the same. we won't have our little corner, our little window at the end of the hall....this is where it all began, it just seems so incredibly special that i hate to leave it behind. there is also the practical concern of having to go home, of having to get a job, of dealing with my family, of missing everyone from school. not just my friends who i will hopefully see, but all the other people i randomly see and like. plus the men, naturally. cough. actually no, for me men are literally "out of sight, out of mind". example: i never think about the former ducks anymore, unless someone brings them up, ie rae and her "y'all want some sweet tea" experience in the south.
listening to billy joel....wendy has the soundtrack to the "movin on out" musical going. "uptown girl" is currently playing. that girl had a WILD night last night lol. tsk tsk. how can i live with someone who doesn't parade around delivering a hilariously theatrical oration about the events of the previous drunken evening? or who has clothes i consistently borrow? yes im wearing a wendy shirt right now.
last year this time we were all thinking about prom like i said....apparently we have something similar here, the Dogwood Dance, at some hotel in bridgeport. i'm deciding if i want to go....some of my friends are. i'd have to get a dress, though...a date, probably not, unless it's one of my guy friends who i will simply designate "the date" lol. i'd like to actually ask a guy, in fact i have one in mind who is genuinely nice and cool even though he's not that cute, but a.) i don't want him to think i love him and b.) prom-esque events are not great dates with people you rarely know.
now rae's harassing me about guys i've liked and dated. meanie. all i have to say is DAN O-FUCKING ROURKE. :-)
