i realized that this has been the longest span of time i have consecutively been away from home. first semester there seemed to be a bunch of reasons to go home a couple of times at least. now it's been two months since i was here, and everything's just a little bit surreal, like i'm here yet not. i already kind of miss school. i needed and wanted a break, but home is so different. there are no people here, which is both a good and bad thing. tonight i'm tired and antisocial, so it's a good thing. went out with the family, always a pleasure. yes, my wonderful sister is at home, screaming and yelling and stomping around and leaving messes and manhandling my cats. grrr.

we got into a fight at dinner about reverend al sharpton--she actually think's he a good leader, she even said she'd vote for him! she heard him speak at an anti-war rally in DC and thinks he's great, despite the fact that he has absolutely no government experience, dubious political views, and a habit of throwing himself into the spotlight wherever possible. i distrust him. i would pick BUSH over him. speaking of whom, my mom's planning to vote for him because she doesn't like kerrry. she did concede that if by any miracle clinton could run again, she would put her faith in him. damn constitution.

i had a cat sleeping in my lap this evening. it was sweet. i missed my kitties.

who's ready to see if i can handle fusco for five days without drowning him in the atlantic? :-)
