Puzzling

There is no rhyme or reason
to where you put the pieces,
no picture to tell you
the way things ought to be.
Turn over all the little pieces,
set up the frame,
and admire
what you are about to do,
the control you will exercise
on the miniature world
under your very thumb.
Then look at all your little pieces,
your pretty, shattered pieces,
and decide where each will go today.
